Parks Victoria wishes to advise the temporary closure of the Lime Burners Walk and the Kiln Number 5 at Cape Liptrap Coastal Park in South Gippsland.
The temporary closure has been imposed due to the exceptional period of prolonged rain incurred in South Gippsland which has led to some potential safety impacts and therefore the area is closed for public safety reasons.

Parks Victoria Ranger in Charge Mr Gerard Delaney said the structural integrity of the Limeburners Walk may have been compromised by the coastal wave action undercutting the track, and landslides and rocks falling onto the path from up above.
“We are ensuring the local community and Friends Group representatives are being kept informed regarding the closure and implications of this event on their planned activities.
“Parks Victoria is seeking expert engineering advice regarding any remedial works required to both the Lime Burners Walk and the Kiln Number 5.
“Once the reports are provided, we will be able to provide the reopening plans for the walk and Kiln”, said Mr Delaney.
Parks Victoria wishes to advise that access to the Walkerville cemetery is still possible via Walkerville North or Bluff Creek at low tide.
